Ukulele Lessons in Dublin 15

Nicolás Pressel is an Uruguayan guitar player, composer and arranger. He started by playing in punk rock bands when he was 15 years old and grew as a musician by studying with the most important guitar players of his country from various genres.

He graduated from the music conservatory "Conservatorio Sur'' in Montevideo, Uruguay, as a professional musician and the first guitar player to graduate from it. While studying music theory with a focus in contemporaneous, jazz harmony, arrangements, and ear training in the conservatory, he developed a career as an arranger writing music for duos, small and big bands. He is interested in
jazz, especially in latin jazz genres like Bossa Nova, Samba (Brazil), Son, Rumba (Caribbean), and the Uruguayan Candombe and Murga.

As a guitar player, he has recorded his own jazz instrumental album "Nicolás Pressel Octeto", which you can listen to h ere. In that album, he composed, arranged, and conducted a group of eight musicians. He has also recorded and arranged the album "Nuestro h omenaje a la música uruguaya"
by "Dúo La Mondiola". As implied by its name in Spanish, this album is a tribute to Uruguayan popular music. This is a jazz interpretation of a selection of songs by a duo of saxophone and acoustic guitar, the latter played by Nicolás.

For 5 years he was the lead guitarist and rhythmic section head of the youth academic orchestra "La Montevideana"', where he also worked as an honorary arranger and orchestrator on several occasions.

Nicolás briefly dabbled in musical theater playing the banjo and acoustic guitar in John Kander ́s classic "Chicago", for the 2022 season in Uruguay. He was part of the ensemble formed by 20 musicians and more than 50 dancers and actors.

As a session player, he has recorded with several Uruguayan musicians of various styles: "Sipitriky" (rock), "Santiago Wainsten Quinteto" (jazz), Camila Villagran (pop), "The Smoke Sellers" (funk), to name a few. He has also been the organizer and guitar host of several jam sessions in Uruguay.

He has been working as a teacher for more than seven years giving private lessons on Spanish and English to students of all ages. As an academy teacher, he gave guitar and ukulele lessons and was the Head of the Ear Training department at "Hit Escuela de Música" in Montevideo.

Tomas is a Spanish performer, composer, and sound engineer. He has been a passionate music educator since 2016, teaching a wide variety of subjects and instruments at all levels.

Having lived across four hemispheres, Tomas brings a global perspective his teaching. Born to Argentinian parents in Spain, he is fluent in Spanish, English, and French, and began playing music at the age of 10 in Dubai. He began his teaching career in Singapore as a private guitar tutor, and in 2019
left for the USA to study at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Music.

Tomas is a multi-instrumentalist, teaching piano, guitar, drums, bass, ukulele and music theory. Aside from his teaching career, he has received recognition in the US for his achievements as a video game composer, including being awarded the O-1 visa for “extraordinary ability in the arts”. He is a soughtafter
lecturer and mentor, having given talks and mentoring with organisations such as Imirt, Ardán, and the Berklee Alumni Mentor Program.
